Community Service classes contribute to the community’s overall cultural, civic, and intellectual growth. They assist in the development of new skills or the upgrading of existing ones.
Human Resources Development
The purpose of the Human Resources Development (HRD) program is to educate and train individuals for success in the workplace.
Continuing Education offers Occupational Extension courses. These courses are designed to improve individual efficiencies, upgrade and/or improve present job skills or to prepare for future employment.
Through the Emergency Service areas of Emergency Medical Services, Fire Services and Law Enforcement, training is provided to over 5,000 students and citizens per year for Wayne and surrounding counties. With State and Federal regulations requirements in these areas, students are able to obtain jobs and advancements in their present employment.
The Wayne Community College Continuing Education department offers Computer Program training that fits your schedule and at your pace, with traditional classes, hybrid classes and online training.
Business and Industry Center
Approximately 50% of the WCC Business & Industry Center’s activities focus on seminars and training courses for small businesses and industries. The remainder of the center’s efforts are in providing one-on-one consulting services, maintaining an up to date resource library, and administering the Focus Industrial Training (FIT) program and administering the New and Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) program.
