Institutional Effectiveness and Innovation

Planning is the process by which the college accomplishes its mission. It occurs and benefits everyone at all levels of the college, from a single student to the college as a whole. Through the planning process, the college examines where it is now, decides where it wants to be and by when, and creates a plan for how to get to where it wants to be.

Planning improves the efficiency with which the college functions, avoids conflicting goals among college offices and helps individuals make better-informed decisions about allocation of resources and the future of the college. Lastly, planning helps the college meet accountability mandates set by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) for its programs and activities. Institutional Effectiveness Documents show were we’ve been and where we are going.

This office conducts annual program reviews to over 70 programs offering degrees, diplomas, and certificates, and also conducts annual services review for all of the support service functions.

Grant Writing

The WCC Grants Development Office assists the college faculty and staff with locating grants, coordinating proposals, and transcribing needs into a competitive grant proposal. Find out how the WCC Grants Development Office is improving WCC.

Surveys

Surveys are often used to determine where students, businesses, faculty and staff, and the community stand on specific topics that cruitial to WCC’s success. The analysis of such surveys provides invaluable information in the planning and research process.

Accreditation

The Office of Planning and Research is responsible for monitoring institutional compliance with the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Criteria. WCC was reaffirmed in 2006 and will required to comply for accreditation again in 2016.
