Energy Camp Returns for Ninth Year at WCC

Wayne Community College’s energy camp, Camp Kilowatt, will return for its ninth year this summer.

Camps for both rising fifth- through eighth-graders and rising ninth- through 12th-graders will be held simultaneously, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., July 10-13.

Camp Kilowatt participants will explore other STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) areas such as electronics, robotics, and rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing, as well as alternative energy.

The camp is limited to 50 participants and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration forms and more information can be found at www.waynecc.edu/campkilowatt/.

The fee is $100 for those who sign up before May 11 and includes lunches and a T-shirt. From May 11 through May 25, the cost is $125 and covers lunch but not a T-shirt. Camp Kilowatt is a product of WCC’s Applied Technologies Division and is financially supported by the Duke Energy Foundation.
