WCC has funds available and is looking for applicants for the Childcare Assistance Program and the Work-Study Program. See if you qualify and apply today!
WCC Childcare Assistance Program
Wayne Community College has funds to assist student-parents with their childcare needs. On average, student-parents receive $85 per week or $1,400 per semester. The funds are for those with the greatest need, usually those who are eligible for the Pell Grant. WCC Financial Aid will accept applications for this program until all available funds are exhausted. The Childcare Assistance Program guidelines and application form are posted at www.waynecc.edu/financial-aid/online-forms/.
WCC Federal Work-Study Program
Students can earn money to help pay for their educational expenses through part-time employment, generally on campus. They can earn $7.25 per hour, payable on a monthly basis, while working around their class schedules. WCC will accept applications until all positions are filled. For the work study program, students do not necessarily have to be eligible for the Pell Grant but they must have enough unmet need to receive the funds. The 2013-2014 Federal Work-Study Application is available at www.waynecc.edu/financial-aid/online-forms/.
For both Childcare Assistance and Federal Work-Study, students who apply MUST have a completed 2013-2014 financial aid file and cannot be on Financial Aid Warning, Probation on Appeal or ineligible for aid due to academic progress.
Both forms should be turned in to WCC Financial Aid in the Wayne Learning Center. If you have questions about these programs or the applications, contact Vanessa Jernigan at 919-739-6738 or email@example.com.
