Salary Range: $28,056 – $35,070
Position requirements: Applicant must be a high school graduate with one to three years’ experience in grounds maintenance or related work. Applicant must have thorough knowledge of the principles, practices, tools and equipment used in landscaping and turf grass maintenance. Two years’ experience as a supervisor is required. A current valid North Carolina pesticide license and driver’s license are required. An Associate degree or higher in Turfgrass Management or a related area is preferred.
The supervisor of grounds maintenance will determine requirements for equipment and supplies, submit annual budget estimates, and initiate daily purchase requests. He/she will plan, schedule, and assign jobs to grounds maintenance staff, ensure safety rules and procedures associated with grounds maintenance and equipment are followed, monitor and evaluate the performance of assigned subordinates, and supervise and act as lead worker in grass mowing, tree and plant pruning, irrigation repairs and application of fertilizers, pesticides and insecticides. The supervisor will perform user maintenance on all assigned equipment and complete all other assigned duties.
