Three Eagles Rotary Club Funds Scholarships

May 03, 2017

The Goldsboro Three Eagles Rotary Club has donated $1,000 to the Foundation of Wayne Community College for student scholarships.

Bill Thompson, president of the Three Eagles Rotary Club of Goldsboro, presents Foundation of Wayne Community College Executive Director Adrienne Northington with a $1,000 donation for student scholarships.

The Three Eagles Rotary Club, chartered in 1995 by Rotary International, serves the Goldsboro/Wayne County area and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. It was started by the base’s 4th Fighter Wing Hospital Commander. The Three Eagles Beer Festival is the club’s annual event to raise money for local non-profit organizations and support Rotary International in its efforts to eradicate polio and promote world peace and understanding. The club meets 7-8 a.m. every Wednesday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital’s cafeteria.

The Foundation of Wayne Community College is a non-profit organization that works to broaden the base of community support for educational opportunities at the college. This year it assisted 344 students with 544 scholarships worth more than $393,000. In addition to providing financial support to students, the Foundation funds mini grants and employee recognition, and offers cultural programs for the community.
