Video Is Award Finalist

January 18, 2017

A Wayne Community College promotional video is in the running for a national award.

The minute-long “LookUpWCC” video is one of three finalists in the Video Shorts category of the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) 2016 Paragon Awards. The video will be presented a gold, silver, or bronze awards on March 27, during the organization’s annual national conference.

The other finalists in this category are Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh and Dixie State University in Utah.

The concept and storyboard for WCC’s video were created through a collaboration between college staff and the creative team at Port City Films, Wilmington, N.C., which filmed and produced it. It features firefighting, aviation, art, simulation and game design, and allied health, all programs at the college, and challenges viewers with “Are you ready for the future? After all, it’s right in front of you. Look up. Wayne Community College.”

It can be viewed on the college’s website and on the Wayne Community College YouTube channel.

The Paragon Awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges.
