Camp Kilowatt is a four-day energy camp that will be held on the Wayne Community College campus from July 15-18 for both Middle School students (rising 5th-8th graders) and High School students (rising 9th-12 graders) . The camp will run from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm. The registration fee is $100 and will include lunch each day, snacks and a camp T-shirt. Registrations forms and fees are due by May 22, 2013. Early Bird registration is $80 and must be received by April 30, 3013. Camps will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis and the camp is limited to 48 campers. Any camper registering after May 22, 2013 (assuming there are slots available) will not receive a camp T-shirt. A limited number of scholarships are available. Scholarship applications are due no later than April 30th.
This year the camp will explore other STEM areas, such as electronics, robotics, and rapid prototyping/additive manufacturing, as well as alternative energy and will involve a comprehensive multi-disciplinary project that students will work on all week and then take home on the last day of camp.
Campers will be expected to follow all campus rules and conduct themselves in an appropriate mature manner during all activities. The parent of any camper failing to adhere to all safety and conduct rules will be contacted to pick their child up and a refund of the registration fee will not be given and the child will be allowed to return to camp.
