NC Back-to-Work Program

NC Back-to-Work Program

The program was established by the NC General Assembly, which earmarked $5.9 million for State Community Colleges over the next year to provide training for entry-level technical jobs for North Carolina citizens who are: unemployed, underemployed, Military Veterans and/or National Guard/Reserve Members.

Wayne Community College (WCC) was one of several Community Colleges in North Carolina to apply for, and receive the program grant.  WCC will use its grant to help residents attain a nationally recognized and fully portable credential as a Certified Production Technician (CPT). http://www.msscusa.org/production-certification-cpt/

To be eligible for the program, you must have a High School Diploma or GED.

Scholarships may be available to cover tuition, registration fees, books, certification costs and other required course material for qualifying individuals.

WCC is targeting approximately 60-80 students to complete the CPT training.  A flexible class schedule has been developed to accommodate different needs.
