Continuing Education offers Occupational Extension courses. These courses are designed to improve individual efficiencies, upgrade and/or improve present job skills or to prepare for future employment.
Persons sixty-five (65) and older are exempt from payment of registration fees for one class per semester*. If there are any questions regarding the eligibility of students for exemption of registration fees, contact the office of Continuing Education Services at 919-739-6900.
* This exemption does not apply to courses classified as self-supporting and leisure and recreation (Community Service).
Classes to Look For:
Course schedules are published every semester. Courses are organized on the basis of need, interest, and availability of suitable facilities. Effective Business Communication
This course is designed to enhance business writing skills needed in various workplace settings. Topics include correspondence, reports, newsletters, procedures manuals, proposals and other forms of business communications. Emphasis is placed on logical organization of writing, precise use of grammar, and appropriate selection and use of sources. Upon completion, students will have a knowledge base for organizing information
and producing professional documents.
