C.O.P.S
(Criminal Justice Technology On-line for Police/Corrections* Services)
You know the importance of higher education, you want to get started in a college education or finish what you’ve started, but there just isn’t enough time! It has become increasingly difficult to juggle between shifts, family, and other interests, and we understand how hard it is for people in our profession to complete their degrees. That is why Wayne Community College is proud to present C.O.P.S Criminal Justice Technology Online for Police/Correctional Services.
C.O.P.S. is a program that allows criminal justice professionals to complete their Associates of Applied Sciences in Criminal Justice without the hassle of attending seated classes. This program allows the student the convenience of taking classes on-line. For those in law enforcement we have designed this program to be completed in less than 2 years (depending on any developmental courses needed per placement scores). For those in the correctional field (*not completing BLET), we will offer most of your courses needed to complete your degree in a 2 year time period (again, depending on developmental courses needed).
Online Degree for C.O.P.S. Students:
Fall and Spring semesters have been divided up into two 8-week sessions. Students will be required to take two courses every 8-weeks to complete their program of study in a timely fashion (See below). Note: The summer session requires a student to take 7 credit hours over a 10-week period. Those who have not completed BLET will have additional courses to take, which will be set up with your advisor.
