FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I need to qualify for a scholarship?
The criteria varies between programs, but the minimum GPA is 2.5.
I’m a GED graduate. Can I qualify for a scholarship?
Yes. Scholarships are available for GED and Adult High School Diploma recipients.
How can I increase my chances of being selected?
- Complete the entire application.
- Get a reference from an instructor/teacher
- Write a personal statement stating your goals and objectives and provide information on any special circumstances that you feel the selection committee should know.
What is the deadline for applying?
The month of April for Fall Scholarships.
The month of October for Spring Scholarships.
Are there scholarships for Summer Session?
No, with the exception of ADN nursing students.
How much are the scholarships?
Scholarship awards vary, but usually cover cost of tuition.
Where can I get a scholarship application?
Download from webpage or pick up an application from the Foundation Office located in Dogwood Bldg. Room 102 or 103. You must fill out a separate application form for each semester you apply for a scholarship.

Application form must be filled out COMPLETELY! Any application with blank information (ie: GPA's, Contact Hrs anticipated, Course of Study, etc...) will be automatically thrown out.

IMPORTANT! ALL Recipients (students who are awarded Foundation scholarships throughout the fiscal year) are REQUIRED to attend a Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony which is held in February each year. This ceremony is very important and is vital to the relationship between the donors of these scholarships, the Foundation and the students.
This ceremony is a great opportunity for each recipient to meet and personally thank the donor of their scholarship(s). It is also is a great opportunity for donors to meet the recipients of their scholarships.
More information will be sent to recipients prior to the ceremony. It is HIGHLY recommended that each scholarship recipient make arrangements and plan accordingly to attend this ceremony.
