New NC LIVE Resource: Job & Career Accelerator

This new resource from NC LIVE will allow any library patron to build a professional resume and cover letters, search local and national job listings, match his or her interests with career opportunities, and practice interview questions, as well as employ many other online careers aids to assist in a job or career search.

As part of the Learning Express Library, you can also take practice tests in career areas you are investigating, or in ones you have been matched to by the Job & Career Accelerator.

To use the Job & Career Accelerator you will need to create either another brand new username and password, or use the  username and password you have already created through the Learning Express Library.  If you have any questions or comments about the Job & Career Accelerator, please contact WCC Library staff at 739-6891 or at

August 2010 Exhibit – North Carolina History and Vacationing

This month both of the WCC library exhibit areas will focus on all that the state of North Carolina offers to both its citizens and visitors.

The bulletin board area showcases North Carolina history and some of the symbols of the state.  Books on exhibit and ready for you to check out  include North Carolina history from Mayberry to the Outer Banks and many points in between.  To learn more about the Old North State’s  vivid past visit the newly updated North Carolina Encyclopedia.

In the newspaper exhibit area, we are showcasing books on vacationing in North Carolina.  From the mountains to the piedmont to the coast, North Carolina provides so many interesting places to visit.  For more information about vacationing in North Carolina visit the official travel and tourism website of North Carolina, VisitNC.
