February 2011 Exhibit – Black History Exhibit

In honor of Black History Month this February, we invite you to visit the WCC Library book exhibit in the bulletin board area.  Books included in this exhibit for you to check out and read are not only those about “African Americans in the Civil War,” the official theme for Black History Month this year, but also biographies of well known African Americans such as Barack Obama and Booker T. Washington.

To find out more about the 2011 Black History Month theme, visit the African American Civil War Memorial and Museum website.

February 2011 Exhibit – Simulation and Game Development Exhibit

On Saturday, February 5th, the Carolina Games Summit will be held at Wayne Community College.  For more information about this event, visit the Carolina Games Summit official website.  To celebrate the summit and the new college program, the WCC Library book exhibit in the bulletin board area will highlight books related to Simulation and Game Development.  These books include career materials, books about game sound and books that will get you started with game development.

These video gaming books are just a very few of the new books on emerging technologies which have been purchased this year on a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) competitive grant awarded to the WCC Library through the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) and the State Library of North Carolina.  Visit the WCC  Library to find out how to locate and check out more of these books in our collections.
