March 2011 Exhibit – Teen Tech Week

March 6-12, 2011 is Teen Tech Week, celebrated each year by the Young Adult Library Services Association, a division of the American Library Association.  The WCC Library newspaper area exhibit features young adult books that deal with technology issues and video games, as well as nonfiction materials about Google, Wikipedia and other technology topics.

Please be aware too that Wayne Community College Library also provides in-house and remote user access all year long to nineteen research databases, in addition to the NC LIVE aggregate database, in which students and patrons can conduct online research.  Simply open the WCC Library webpage, and choose your desired database from the research databases drop-down menu, or this link.  Contact us if you have any questions!

March 2011 Exhibit – Women’s History Month

During Women’s History Month this March we focus on the theme “Our History Is Our Strength,” as designated by the National Women’s History Project.  Books on display in the WCC Library’s bulletin board area for March discuss women’s history, as well as present biographies about famous women such as Abigail Adams and Zora Neale Hurston.

For more information, visit one or more of the many women’s history websites listed on the American Women Through Time website sponsored by the Middle Tennessee State University.  You may also enjoy tracing the history of women in our own state by accessing the North Carolina Museum of History’s Women’s History Timeline.
