Comprehensive Standard 3.2.12: Fund-Raising Control
The institution's chief executive officer has ultimate control of the institution's fund-raising activities.
Judgment of Compliance: The College certifies COMPLIANCE.
Narrative:
The President of Wayne Community College >has the ultimate control of fund-raising. College policies for grants and gifts provide that all fund-raising activities require the approval of the president. The Grant Policy (CPM 08-0301) and the Gift Policy (CPM 08-0401) state, in part, that:
- "The president shall clear the purpose of each grant proposal in advance, and no grants will be solicited without authorization by the President.
- No individual or unit of the college shall solicit funds in the name of the college or on behalf of the college without authorization from the President. . . ."
The Board of Trustees and the Foundation must approve and officially accept all grants and gifts.
The Foundation of Wayne Community College is incorporated to "maintain and develop the services of Wayne Community College and. . . . to award scholarships and grants to students, faculty and staff of Wayne Community College" (By-Laws of the Foundation).
