Judgment of Compliance: The College certifies COMPLIANCE.
Narrative:
All academic credit awarded for courses is controlled through the North Carolina Community College System Common Course Library (CCL). The amount of credit, the level of credit, and the distribution of credit are published for all courses as part of the CCL. The credit hours awarded are determined by the North Carolina Administrative Code and include one semester hour for each 16 hours of classroom instruction, one semester hour for each 32 hours of experiential laboratory work, one semester hour for each 48 hours of faculty-directed laboratory work, one semester hour for each 48 hours of clinical practice in health programs, and one semester hour for each 160 hours of cooperative education work experience (Chapter 1A, section .0101[1]).
Programs of study are developed at the local level, using the approved standards developed by the North Carolina System Office. Courses are delivered in traditional and technology-enhanced modes (independent study, telecourse, teleweb, web supported/web assisted, two-way video, digital media, and Internet). Credits awarded are the same, regardless of the mode of delivery.
