Social and Cultural Activities
WCC students have extraordinary access to cultural events, not just those such as lectures, concerts and plays sponsored by the College, but also the countless activities that community groups present on the campus, including ballets, patriotic ceremonies, and symposiums to name a few. Field trips give students opportunities to attend museum exhibits, theater productions and conferences with their classes or clubs. Events such as the “Spring Fling” allow students from different programs to interact and socialize.
WCC students also learn to give back. They have many opportunities to volunteer, from service learning worked into their courses to community activities and campus causes in which they may get involved.
Sports and Recreation
The sports and recreational facilities and programs are open to students, faculty, and staff members to encourage active, healthy lifestyles and enhance a sense of community. Facilities include a weight and exercise room, tennis courts, softball field and walking course.
Student Clubs and Organizations
WCC offers a wide range of student organizations for entertainment, friendship, leadership, and service to the College and community. The College also is home to two honor society chapters that recognize students’ academic accomplishments.
Student Government Association
The Student Government Association acts as a liaison between the student body and the administration of the College. All students who pay activity fees are members of the Student Government Association. WCC encourages students to attend the association’s meetings and participate in the decision-making process.
Reflecting what employees can find in the world of work today and what students are accustomed to in their daily lives, WCC offers state-of-the-art computers and peripherals, software, teaching aides, machinery and services. From wireless Internet access available in most buildings to free student e-mail accounts, the college makes learning and communicating seamless and convenient.
