Wayne Community College’s Criminal Justice Club is putting on a womanless beauty pageant to raise funds for student scholarships.
The “Queen of Kings” pageant will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26 in Moffatt Auditorium of the Wayne Learning Center (main building) on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro.
The event will feature 10 college employees: Warren Baker, campus police officer; Reshaw Butler, tutor; Chris Denise, Academic Skills Center director; Duane Everhart, criminal justice instructor; Ted Koger, machining instructor; Cristian Lares, tutor; Paul Mitchell, Basic Skills Department science instructor; Gene Smith, associate vice president of academic and student services; Tyrone Starkie, pre-curriculum achievement coach; and Billy Tart, nursing instructor.
The “ladies” will be judged on both their internal and external beauty through talent, a question-and-answer, and evening wear presentations.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under the age of 12 and WCC students with college identification cards. They can be purchased in the Public Safety Division offices in Room 103 of the Pine Building and Foundation of WCC offices in Room 102 and 104 in the Dogwood Building. If any tickets remain, they will be sold at the door prior to the event
Proceeds go to the Foundation of Wayne Community College.
