Honorees To Speak about Travels

Three recipients of Wayne Community College’s Distinguished Chair awards will speak about the trips the honor funded.

Foreign Language Instructor Fe Finch will talk about her travel in England, Scotland, and Ireland 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8. It will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro.

Phyllis Patterson, a math teacher who is now retired from the college, will speak about her trip to England, Wales, and Greece. Her presentation will be held 1-2 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 21 in Room 101 of the Walnut Building.

Ireland will be Nursing Instructor JoAnne McClave’s topic on 2-3 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29. Her discussion will be held in Room 161 of the Wayne Learning Center.

Two Distinguished Chair awards are presented annually by the Foundation of Wayne Community College. They recognize outstanding full-time curriculum or continuing education faculty members who have at least five years of service with the college. Ten sets of the stipends have been given from funds provided by an anonymous donor.

The presentations are free and open to the public. No registration is required.

The Foundation is a non-profit organization that works to broaden the base of community support for educational opportunities at Wayne Community College.
