Public Invited to WCC King Event

The public is invited to join Wayne Community College in its annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life and legacy at 1 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, in Moffatt Auditorium in the Wayne Learning Center.

Guest speaker for the event is Manuel C. Dudley, a Goldsboro High School graduate and former chair of the Human Services Department at WCC. After a stint at Mitchell Community College, he now serves as the dean of the Greensboro campus of Guilford Technical Community College. Dr. Dudley will talk on “Citizenship and Service in Action.”

Winners of the college’s writing contest on the same subject will be recognized during the event and students will provide musical performances, including the presentation by Virgil Shaw of his original song, “Keep Dreaming.”

There is no charge and no tickets or reservations are required.
