Students Provide Party for Habitat Partners

A group of Wayne Community College students provided an evening of entertainment for local Habitat for Humanity families.

The five students in the fall “Introduction to Communication” course created the event as a class project. They held the party for 57 “partners” of the Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne at a local skating rink and provided snacks, gift bags for the children, and cupcakes and gingerbread men for the children to decorate. Each family took home at least one door prize.

The group of Travis Cuddington, Briana Marshall, Michele Page, Ryan Pate, and Hollie Wasilewski held two bake sales on campus which gave them more than $300 for expenses, and solicited more than $800-worth of donated items from 19 businesses. The grand prize was a buddy package for indoor skydiving.
