Uncovering Shakespeare - Wayne Community College | Goldsboro, NC

Uncovering Shakespeare

Just in time for William Shakespeare’s 450th birthday, the Foundation of Wayne Community College is offering a four-class series on the English poet, playwright, and actor.

“Shakespeare Uncovered: For Those Who Know the Bard Well and Those Who Don’t” will be held at 7 p.m. on April 7, 14, and 28, and May 5. Location is Room 101 in the Walnut Building.

Margaret Boothe Baddour will lead participants through three programs from the PBS-TV series “Shakespeare Uncovered” to study Shakespeare’s society in his time and the present. Topics will include the tragedy of “Macbeth,” the history in “Henry V,” and the comedy of “The Tempest.” The class will discuss the bard’s insights into human nature and try to answer the big question that runs through each play: What does it mean to be a leader? The series will conclude with a celebration of Shakespeare’s birthday.

Pre-registration is required by calling (919) 739-7017 and leaving the participant’s name, phone number and course title or going to https://foundation.waynecc.edu/AH-Events. The registration fee is $20 per individual and $35 for couples.
