The success of its first daytime Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) class has encouraged Wayne Community College to offer it again in the fall.
The day EMT class will be held 8 a.m.-7 p.m. (with an hour break for lunch) on Fridays, Aug. 22-Dec. 12, 2014.
The college will also provide an evening EMT Basic course 6-10 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and some Saturdays. Advanced EMT is taught on a rotating schedule of Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, 6-10 p.m., and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at least one Saturday a month. Both courses run Aug. 19-Dec. 11.
Interviews are required and must be conducted prior to Aug. 7. Anyone interested in taking EMT courses this spring should contact WCC Emergency Medical Services Coordinator Kim Boswell at (919) 739-6893 or kmboswell@waynecc.edu to schedule an appointment.
Some scholarships are available for those who need financial assistance. Ms. Boswell can advise on those during the interview.
