WCC Hosts Machining Instructors Conference

Wayne Community College hosted the N.C. Association of Machinist Instructors/N.C. Haas Technical Education Centers (HTEC) annual conference Nov. 7 and 8.

More than four dozen instructors from community colleges and universities in North Carolina and Virginia attended the event, which included training and demonstrations on computer aided design (CAD) and computer numerical control (CNC) machines, presentations on topics such as “Advanced Manufacturing in North Carolina,” industry tours, and vendor visits.

The instructors’ association and HTEC also held business meetings during the conference.

WCC is member of the HTEC Network. It is an organization of manufacturing technology educators who network with and leverage the capabilities and technologies of Haas Automation, Haas Factory Outlets and HTEC Partners to work with local industry, schools at all levels, government and manufacturing associations to exchange the best manufacturing practices and educational methods and to exploit the power of modern manufacturing equipment for educational purposes. More than 1300 schools, colleges and universities throughout North, South and Central America are members.
