Habitat Announces Voucher Program

Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne Hurricane Matthew Voucher Program
The NC Community Foundation Disaster Relief Fund has awarded a grant to Habitat for Humanity of Goldsboro-Wayne to make vouchers available to individuals and families adversely affected by Hurricane Matthew so they can shop in the Habitat ReStore.
The maximum amount an individual can spend with a voucher is $150, with a limit of two vouchers per family.
Vouchers may be used to purchase home goods and furnishings including furniture, appliances, home interior items or construction materials. It will not cover sporting goods, clothes, books, toys and other miscellaneous items.
In order to be eligible for this program, families must live in Wayne County, have a referral from a social service organization (ex. Department of Social Services, Salvation Army, Red Cross, Baptist Men, Catholic Charities, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, Area Churches in Action, All the King’s Children etc.) and a valid ID (driver’s license, utility bill, lease/mortgage, etc). Referrals must either be a signed letter from an organization on letterhead or a signed copy of a Habitat Voucher. Individuals may also access the program with a FEMA registration form and number or if they are on the Red Cross list.
The program will end when the funds are exhausted or on November 30, 2017, whichever comes first.
The Habitat Goldsboro-Wayne ReStore is located at 124 E. Mulberry St. in Goldsboro. Hours are Tuesday-Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
