Public Invited to Lunch-and-Learn about Mental Illness Recovery

Wayne Community College’s Human Services Technology Program and Mental Health Association in Wayne County will hold a lunch-and-learn talk on mental illness recovery noon-12:50 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 19, in Room 161 of the Wayne Learning Center.

In “Recovery 101: A Culture of Recovery,” presenter Tammy Hill, volunteer services coordinator at Cherry Hospital and a 2015 Human Services Program graduate, will explore the recovery movement, how to reduce stigma about mental illness and recovery, and the 10 guiding principles for a recovery approach.

The event is free and open to the public. Beverages and chips will be provided but participants are asked to bring their own sandwiches.
