Teacher Education Program Deadlines Approaching

The State Employees Credit Union Partnership East teacher education program is now accepting applications for its 2014 cohorts.

The program is a degree completion partnership between East Carolina University (ECU) College of Education and North Carolina community colleges. It allows students to complete the first two years of the program at a partnering community college and the rest at an ECU hub site or online.

The application deadline for students wishing to study Elementary Education full time is Jan. 15, 2014. This is for the cohort that begins in the second summer term of 2014. Details and the application are available at www.coe3.ecu.edu/pe/Full/.

The deadline to apply for the part-time program for Elementary, Special Education or Middle Grades is Feb. 15, 2014. The program begins in the fall of 2014. Go to www.coe3.ecu.edu/pe/Part/ for more information and to apply.

Wayne Community College in Goldsboro is the hub site for the partnership’s South Central Consortium, which consists of the school systems and community colleges in Cumberland, Duplin, Greene, Johnston, Sampson, and Wayne County.
