apply-on-campusDental Assisting prepares the graduate to assist the dentist in providing treatment services. The curriculum includes instruction in dental health education, preparing dental materials, taking dental x-rays, and maintaining dental supplies, equipment and records. Graduates may find employment with private dental offices, public health dental clinics, federal and state agencies, dental schools, dental supply companies and insurance companies. Salaries for entry-level full-time employment range from $23,000 to $30,000.

Things to Consider: Graduates are eligible to take the examination to become a certified Dental Assistant, which is administered by the Dental Assisting National Board, Inc.
