The Honors Program of Wayne Community College focuses on learning, leadership, and service as integral components of a well-rounded education.

To participate in the Honors Program, a student must have:
3.5 GPA + 12 Credit Hours (completed at college level)
Students must maintain a 3.2 GPA to remain eligible for Honors courses.
As participants in the Honors Program, students will

- Honors Certificate (after 12 hours @ Honors level)
- Notation on transcript
- Medallion

To earn the Honors Certificate, all Honors students must complete HUM 230: Leadership Development.
How do I apply to the Honors Program?
Along with meeting the minimum requirement for course semester hours and cumulative GPA; students must apply to the program and submit one letter of recommendation from a past or current college instructor. Applications may be obtained by meeting with the program coordinator. Applications can be submitted at any time throughout the academic year.
