The Medical Assisting curriculum prepares you to become a multi-skilled health care professional qualified to perform administrative, clinical and laboratory procedures. As a graduate, you may find employment in medical offices, clinics, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. Medical Assisting offers terrific opportunities for advancement in positions such as office manager, clinical supervisor and other administrative support occupations. The earnings of Certified Medical Assistants vary, depending on geographic location, place of employment, experience and skill level. One can expect to earn between $19,000 and $27,000 a year to start.

Things to consider: Most employers prefer to hire Certified Medical Assistants. WCC’s program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) upon the recommendation of the Curriculum Review Board of the American Association of Medical Assistants Endowment (CRB-AAMAE). Therefore, as a graduate, you are eligible to sit for the American Association of Medical Assistants’ Certification Examination to become Certified Medical Assistants.
