How to Apply to the Educator Preparation Program
Follow the steps below to apply for the Educator Preparation Program at Wayne Community College.
Step 1
Go to waynecc.edu and click the button labeled “Apply Now” in the top right corner.
Step 2
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the button labeled “Your Steps to Apply.”
Step 3
Read the page carefully to understand each step of the application process. Afterwards, click the “Apply Online Now!” link in Step 1.
Step 4
Sign in or create a CFNC account and follow the directions/pages listed by clicking the next button at the bottom.
Special Notes
- When you get to the “Choose the program” line, click the down arrow, then select: Special Credit/Pre-Educator Preparation Program (EPP)
- Residency Number (RCN) – You will be required to provide a residency number (RCN) to determine whether you should have in-state or out-of-state tuition and eligibility for state financial aid. If you do not have a Residency Certification Number (RCN) or do not remember your RCN, you should visit www.ncresidency.org to obtain your RCN before submitting this application.
Submit Official Transcripts
Before you can be accepted into the Residency Program at WCC, we need transcripts from any college(s) you have attended in the past.
THESE MUST BE OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS.
Transcripts can be sent electronically to wcc-admissions@waynecc.edu or mailed to:

Acceptance Notice
For admission into the program, the candidate must:
- Must be a U.S. citizen, or eligible for employment.
- Have completed a bachelor’s degree with a 2.7 GPA or higher.
- Have completed 24 hours of coursework in the requested licensure area or passed the North Carolina State Board of Education (NCSBE) required content area examination(s) for the requested licensure area.
- Provide a letter of employment or promised placement from the PSU/LEA
Once you have completed and submitted the application and submitted your transcripts to the college, both will be analyzed by the EPP Campus Director. A follow up email will be sent with information on your qualifications for the Residency Program and your next steps.
