Commencement Ceremonies May 9 and 10

Wayne Community College’s Class of 2019 is just days away from turning their tassels.

The Transitional Programs for College and Career (TPCC) commencement will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 9 in Moffatt Auditorium on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro. The estimated number of graduates are 28 Adult High School and 148 High School Equivalent graduates.

Two ceremonies will be held on Friday, May 10 for curriculum (college credit) graduates.

The first curriculum ceremony is set for 10 a.m. for graduates of the Arts and Sciences Division and Allied Health programs. The second curriculum ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. for graduates of programs in the Applied Technologies, Business and Computer Technologies, and Public Safety divisions and the Public Services programs. Both ceremonies will be held at the Maxwell Regional Agricultural and Convention Center in Goldsboro.

This is the second time the college has used the Maxwell Center for graduation ceremonies. Its first-ever fall curriculum commencement was held there in December 2018 for Summer 2018 and Fall 2018 graduates.

The spring curriculum commencement ceremonies will celebrate the accomplishments of an anticipated 582 graduates receiving 945 degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

All of these are ticketed events. The ceremonies will be live streamed and recordings will be posted on the college’s website (www.waynecc.edu) as soon as practical after the events.
