Constitution Day Events Open to the Public

Wayne Community College’s 2019 Constitution Day events are set for Thursday, Sept. 19.

A voter registration drive is scheduled for 10-11 a.m.

WCC History Instructor Dean Lawson will give a brief talk on “How We Got the United States Constitution” starting at 11 a.m. Following that, participants are invited to join in reading the Preamble of the Constitution for a video project.

All activities are open to the public. They will be held in Room 101 of the Walnut Building.

Constitution Day celebrates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787. Constitution and Citizenship Day educational programs are mandated by federal legislation for all educational institutions that receive federal funding.
