Drive-through and Walk-in Help with Aid Forms May 14

May 03, 2021

Drive-through and walk-in assistance with financial aid forms will be available on May 14 at Wayne Community College.

Individuals who intend to attend college in the 2021-22 academic year and their families can get free one-on-one help completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. They can plan to attend any college, not just WCC.

From 9 a.m. to noon, on Friday, May 14, WCC financial aid professionals will assist with completing and submitting the forms. The FAFSA is required to be considered for all federal and most state financial aid for college, including scholarships and grants.

Participants can get assistance while they sit in their vehicle in the parking lot in front of the Wayne Learning Center (building with flags). They can complete the FAFSA form and access info using the myStudentAid app on a mobile device or through www.studentaid.gov with a charged laptop computer or other device.

Individuals and families also have the option of going into the WCC Financial Aid Office in Room 136B of the Wayne Learning Center.

Participants can prepare for the event by creating a “FSA ID” to log into and sign their FAFSA applications at www.fsaid.ed.gov, and bringing the Social Security Numbers of student and parent or guardian, driver’s license if the student has one, a copy of 2019 tax returns as well as untaxed income and assets, and a list of schools to which the student plans to apply. WCC’s code is 008216.

Face coverings are required on campus when indoors and when in close proximity to others outside.
