Register Now for Activity Director Training

Wayne Community College will offer training to prepare students to be activity directors in healthcare-related settings.

The Basic Activity Director course provides the qualifications necessary to work as an activity director in an adult care home or nursing facility. It includes 60 hours of classroom instruction and 30 hours of on-site clinical training and documentation in a skilled nursing facility.

The class will meet 5:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesday, Feb. 19-April 30. An additional 30 hours of clinical experience and documentation also will be scheduled for each student.

A high school diploma or equivalency diploma is required to take the course.

Cost is the $180 registration fee plus the required textbook. Students can register and pay the registration fee at the Workforce Continuing Education customer service desk in the Walnut Building on the college’s main campus in Goldsboro.
