Foundation of Wayne Community College Donor Relations and Communications Coordinator Emily Byrd and Foundation Executive Assistant Diane Belmont accept a $1,000 donation from Michelle Gay, a pediatric dental assistant and the community relations specialist for Smith & Adams Family Dentistry. The contribution, given on behalf of the practice’s doctors and staff, will go into the Wayne Community College Dental Endowment to benefit dental assisting and hygiene students and provide for WCC Dental Department needs.
The Foundation of Wayne Community College is a non-profit organization that works to broaden the base of community support for educational opportunities at the college. It awarded 558 scholarships worth more than $382,000 in the 2018-2019 academic year. In addition to providing financial support to students, the Foundation funds mini grants and employee recognition, and offers cultural programs for the community.
