Wayne Community College held a topping out ceremony for the custom lecture hall that is being added to its Pine Building.
The construction team placed the final beam in the building’s addition with assistance from WCC President Patty Pfeiffer and WCC Board Chair Ven Faulk.

The Pine Building is undergoing renovations to accommodate the prospective growth of WCC’s Allied Health division, particularly its nursing programs.
The project includes the addition of a custom lecture hall to provide more space for classroom instruction, renovation of the building’s entire first floor, and paving of the current gravel parking lot.
“This is an exciting milestone we have now reached in the construction project,” Pfeiffer said at the topping out ceremony. “As the final beam is put into place today, it represents the culmination of much hard work and dedication from our contractors and construction team.”
“Ultimately, this is more than a construction project; it is a way for Wayne Community College to continue serving as a place of excellence when it comes to Allied Health education,” said Faulk.
Daniels and Daniels Construction and Moseley Architects serve as the building and design firms for the Pine Building renovation project. It is expected to be completed by the fall 2026 semester.
