WCC Camps Have Openings

It is not too late to get into three Wayne Community College camps.

There are still spaces in the college’s aviation, sewing, and science camps.

Aviation Camp for rising sixth-eighth graders: 9 a.m.-noon, July 22-25 – Campers will explore aviation and discover the unlimited opportunities a career in aviation presents. The campers will have classroom as well as hands-on experiences and will construct and launch their own rockets. Cost: $80.

Sew and Stitch Camp for rising ninth-12th graders: 1-4 p.m., July 22-25 – This camp will introduce basic sewing techniques, sewing machine operations, design principles, and much more while challenging campers to create a final project to display. Cost: $60.

Eye-Opening Science Camp for seventh- and eighth-graders: 9 a.m.-noon, July 22-25 – Campers will investigate carbon dioxide’s effect on air temperature and water, look for aquatic invertebrates in campus ponds, examine North Carolina fossils, and more. Cost: $60.

The Aviation and Science camps will be held on the college’s campus in Goldsboro. The Aviation Camp will be conducted at the Wayne Executive Jetport in Pikeville.
