For the second consecutive year, Wayne Community College has earned a spot on USA TODAY’s list of America’s Top Vocational Schools.
The list includes the top 250 schools in the nation that offer vocational training through undergraduate certificates or diplomas. It is USA TODAY’s second annual ranking of America’s trade schools.
USA TODAY collaborated with market research firm Statista to develop rankings to help students navigate the trade school market. The rankings were judged on graduation rate, graduates’ salaries, years it takes to pay off net cost, social mobility, and diversity.
The schools on the list were ranked using a star system. WCC received five stars, the highest ranking.
“We are proud to once again be named among the top 250 vocational schools in America by USA TODAY,” said Dr. Patty Pfeiffer, WCC president. “This honor recognizes the quality workforce training students receive from our outstanding faculty, and we are grateful to be able to prepare graduates for great careers in lucrative industries within our community.”
WCC was one of 17 schools in North Carolina to make USA TODAY’s list.
The College offers many Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs as both college-credit opportunities and short-term training through Workforce Continuing Education Services. WCC has several diploma and certificate programs that can lead to other industry-recognized professional certifications.
These career-focused programs prepare students to find employment in their chosen industry and to advance in their field.
