Several Wayne Community College students have received scholarships from the State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation.
The SECU “Bridge to Career” Program awarded scholarships for $500 each to 20 students enrolled in short-term training through WCC’s Workforce Continuing Education Services.

The SECU “Bridge to Career” Program helps remove financial barriers for students seeking to obtain state-regulated or industry-recognized credentials through Workforce Continuing Education Services. The program has supported community college workforce development and continuing education students across North Carolina since 2018.
Additionally, two curriculum students received “People Helping People” scholarships from the SECU Foundation valued at $5,000 each, to be used across four consecutive semesters.
Bryce Keith, a Medical Office Administration student from Goldsboro, and Carlton McCullen, an Associate in Arts student from Mount Olive, are the recipients of this scholarship.
Two “People Helping People” scholarships are awarded annually to each of the 58 community colleges in North Carolina through the SECU Foundation scholarship program. Students are selected based on scholastic achievement and the demonstration of leadership, excellence of character, integrity, and community involvement.
