WCC Teaching Cloud Computing through AWS Academy

October 16, 2019

Students can gain cloud computing skills at Wayne Community College through its new membership in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Academy.

Academy membership enables the college’s Information Systems Technology instructors to teach AWS Academy courses and provides access to hands-on learning experiences and scenario-based project exercises about cloud computing.

The curriculum integrates into the college’s existing programs and prepares students to pursue industry-recognized certifications and in-demand cloud computing jobs. AWS develops and maintains the curriculum with regular updates that reflect new innovation and best practices.

In order to teach the courses, WCC instructors must earn Academy certification and become AWS accredited.

The Academy membership gives students access to complimentary practice exams and 50 percent discounts on AWS certification exams.

For more information about AWS certification courses at WCC, contact Information Systems Technology Department Chair Glenn Royster at 919-739-6879 or groyster@waynecc.edu.
