WCC to Hold Middle School Choir Festival

February 16, 2026

Wayne Community College will host its third annual Honors Choir Festival for middle school students on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Students will spend the day rehearsing with WCC’s music faculty before performing in a mass choir concert with the WCC choir.

The final concert will be held at 4 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium located inside the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on campus with the flag poles in front). It is free and open to the public to attend.

Students wearing yellow T-shirts stand together and sing.

Around 90 students from six schools in Wayne and surrounding counties will participate in the festival. They will sing four choral selections ranging from Renaissance music to Broadway songs.

Two of the attending middle school choirs will showcase their talent in a special performance during the festival, and the middle school choir directors will join the WCC choir to perform a musical selection as well.

WCC encourages persons with disabilities to participate in its programs and activities. If you anticipate needing accommodations or have questions about access, contact the Accessibility Counselor at 919-739-6729.
