Wayne Community College’s fourth annual Vocal Fest will be held Thursday, Oct. 15.
Selected high school singers from 10 schools across the state will spend the day on campus rehearsing with WCC’s music faculty and choir students.
The festival will conclude with the high school students singing as a mass choir at 4 p.m. in WCC’s Moffatt Auditorium, located inside the Wayne Learning Center (the main building with the flag poles in front).
The concert is free and open to the public. It will also be livestreamed on WCC’s YouTube channel.
Additionally, the Fayetteville Technical Community College choir will join WCC’s choir and the high school directors in a group performance during the concert.
In conjunction with Vocal Fest, submitted performance videos of student solos or small ensembles will be evaluated by WCC’s music faculty. Three winners will showcase their talents in a special performance at the concert and will receive a monetary award.
