Wayne Community College’s Workforce Continuing Education Services held a pinning ceremony to recognize the spring graduates of its Allied Health programs.
Graduates from WCC’s Nurse Aide I, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, and Sterile Processing programs received pins and certificates to mark their transition from students to healthcare professionals.
Several graduates received their credentials through WCC’s Career and College Promise dual-enrollment program, which allowed them to earn the Nurse Aide I certification while still in high school.
WCC President Patty Pfeiffer highlighted the importance of the pinning ceremony and what it represents. “This pinning ceremony is more than a tradition. It’s a symbol of your hard work, your resilience, and your unwavering dedication to improving the lives of others,” she said. “May this pin remind you always of the purpose, passion, and power you carry as healthcare providers.”
During the ceremony, graduates with the highest grade point average in each class were recognized. Nurse Aide I graduates Gracie Mooney, Sacoria Farmer, Keely Bush, Yenifer Gonzalez Osorio, Emely Perez-Perez, and Hannah Turnipseed; Phlebotomy graduates Debra Dellacroce and Leslie Ramirez-Flores; Pharmacy Technician graduate Benjamin Stovall; and Sterile Processing graduate Anna Gorgon were honored for this achievement.

WCC Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education Services and Community Engagement Renita Dawson congratulated the graduates on completing their programs. “You have shown incredible dedication,” she said. “We wish you the best in your future.”
