WCC’s Allied Health Graduates Honored at Pinning Ceremony

May 21, 2026

Wayne Community College held a pinning ceremony to celebrate the spring graduates of its Workforce Continuing Education Services Allied Health programs.

Graduates of WCC’s Nurse Aide I, Phlebotomy, Pharmacy Technician, and Central Sterile Processing programs received certificates of completion and pins at the ceremony, symbolizing their transition from students to healthcare professionals.

During the ceremony, WCC Vice President of Workforce Continuing Education Services and Community Engagement Renita Dawson told the graduates that the training they received at WCC will provide a strong foundation in their profession.

“Your commitment and resilience are an inspiration to us all,” Dawson said. “May you carry the joy, purpose, and sense of accomplishment from this pinning ceremony with you as you begin this new chapter.”

WCC President Patty Pfeiffer encouraged the graduates to continue learning, growing, and leading with kindness throughout their careers. “Never underestimate the impact of a reassuring word, a listening ear, or a moment of compassion. Those are the qualities that will truly define you as an exceptional healthcare worker,” Pfeiffer said.

Graduates with the highest grade point average in each class were recognized during the ceremony. Nurse Aide I graduates Shaniya Jessup, Andrea Blunt, Brittany Paniagua Gonzalez, Camila Dominguez-Robles, Avery Parkhurst, and Lissette Morales; Phlebotomy graduate Jonson Felipe-Lorenzo; Pharmacy Technician graduate Ariyonna Dawson; and Central Sterile Processing graduate Kyanna Watters were recognized for this achievement.
