NISOD’s member colleges may submit nominations for Excellence Awards using their own selection criteria. WCC nominates its annual winner of the George E. Wilson Excellence in Teaching Award, which went to Tuck in 2025.

As a NISOD Excellence Award recipient, Tuck will receive a medallion, a certificate, and acknowledgement in the organization’s annual awards booklet.

Tuck has been a full-time faculty member at WCC since 2014.

WCC Language and Communication Department Chair Allyson Daly described Tuck as a capable and dynamic instructor and colleague. “Deniz is a voice of informed integrity, and her voice is respected and sought out by everyone,” she said. “She continues to constantly reflect and refine her own practice to serve all our students.”
