Summer Youth Employment Initiative Orientation

For the second year, the City of Goldsboro 2018 Summer Youth Employment Initiative Program will offer temporary (six weeks) part-time employment to young city residents.

It is a collaborative effort of the city, The Housing Authority of the City of Goldsboro, Wayne Community College, and NC Works.

Students age 14-18 and high school dropouts age 16-24 who live within the city limits and who meet financial eligibility requirements are eligible to apply.

A minimum of 47 office, light labor, and recreation support positions will be available between June 11 and Aug. 17.  Participants will work approximately 20 or more hours per week, depending on placement. They will also participate in weekly training.

Applicants must attend a full orientation session. Two sessions will be held: Jan. 9 and Jan. 11, 6-8 p.m. in Moffatt Auditorium at Wayne Community College.
