Children in Disaster Training – Helping Children Cope in Crisis

“Helping Children Cope in Crisis” provides techniques to support children’s unique trauma needs and help them return to a new normal.

It is one of three FREE workshops on Protecting Children in Disaster sponsored by Wayne Community College’s Early Childhood Education program and the Partnership for Children of Wayne County. It is taught by Save the Children International.

The other workshops are “Child Friendly Spaces” on Friday, Jan. 19 and “Helping Caregivers Recover: Self Care” on Saturday, Jan. 20. (To register for the other sessions, go to the description for each in this section of the website.)

Refreshments will be provided throughout the sessions. Those who attend both Jan. 20 workshops will be given lunch.

Certificates of documentation of in-service training credit approved by the N.C. Division of Child Development and Early Education will be available for child care providers.
