Wayne Community College will honor Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration on Wednesday, Oct. 8, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Dr. G. Herman Porter Atrium inside the Wayne Learning Center (the main building on campus with the flag poles in front). The event is free and open to the public.
Representatives from local Hispanic-serving organizations, small businesses, cultural groups, and student organizations will share information and resources with attendees. The event will feature spoken-word performances, art displays, interactive tabling activities, and cultural demonstrations highlighting Hispanic heritage, history, and contributions.
At 12:15 p.m., attendees are invited to participate in a group photo. Guests are encouraged to wear attire that represents their culture, such as traditional clothing, quinceañera dresses, or soccer jerseys.
Hispanic Heritage Month is observed annually in the U.S. from Sept. 15–Oct. 15.
